WORK FURLOUGH CONDITIONS 

This document lists the work furlough conditions under the Beverly Hills Police Jail Facility “Pay to Stay” program. As an inmate, serving your sentence in the Beverly Hills Police Jail facility, the Court has authorized you to leave custody for the sole purpose of continuing employment while completing your sentence.  Each inmate involved in work furlough must abide by each of these conditions.  Any violation of any ONE of these rules and/or conditions may immediately disqualify the inmate from the “Pay to Stay” program, require the release of the inmate from the Jail facility, and cause all prepaid fees to be forfeited.  The Jail Supervisor or designee will provide the necessary documentation as to the incomplete sentence and the reason for removal from the program upon request from the Court.

As a participant in the Beverly Hills Police Department’s “Pay to Stay” program, and having been authorized by the Court to serve my sentence in conjunction with work furlough, I agree to the following:

 

  • I will truthfully answer all inquiries by the Jail staff, the Probation Department, Court personnel and any law enforcement officer.

  • I will maintain a current work schedule, including regularly scheduled overtime, on file with the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail staff. 

  • I will remain on my job and not leave my workplace unless it is on authorized company business or to obtain a meal for a reasonably-timed meal break during scheduled work hours.

  • Prior to driving my personal vehicle or any motor vehicle, I will submit a written request to the Jail Supervisor or designee, seeking permission to do so.  I will also provide with the request, a copy of my current vehicle registration and current vehicle insurance.  I will possess these three items when operating a motor vehicle, as required by law.

  • I will travel to and from work by the most direct route from and to the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail facility.

  • I will maintain a current travel schedule with the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail staff, and provide immediate updates to said schedule.

  • I will not to make any stops to or from work unless pre-approved by the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail Staff.

  • I will contact the on duty Jail staff at 310.288.2600  if overtime work is unexpectedly required and I cannot return at the scheduled time.

  • I will return to the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail facility at the scheduled time unless the on-duty Jail staff authorizes a different return time in advance.

  • I will not have personal visitors at my work site. Visitation will only be allowed at the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail Facility during authorized times.

  • I will provide a check stub to the Beverly Hills Police Department’s on-duty Jail staff, each payday for review.

  • I will not ride as passenger in a motor vehicle without permission of the Jail Supervisor or designee. Prior to being a passenger in motor vehicle, I will submit a written request to the Jail Supervisor or designee, seeking permission to do so.  I will also provide a copy of driver’s operating license, current vehicle registration and current vehicle insurance.

  • I will refrain from using or possessing alcoholic beverages, including non-alcoholic beer or wine, while I am in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program.

  • I will not possess, transport or use any narcotic, or other controlled substance, including marijuana or paraphernalia related to such substances.

  • I will not frequent places where controlled substances are illegally sold, used, distributed, or administered.

  • I will not purchase any over-the-counter medications without the expressed authorization of the Jail Supervisor or designee.  If I am authorized to purchase such medication, I will turn in the medication to the on-duty Jail staff upon return to the facility. I understand that, should I need to continue use of over-the-counter medication, I may be released from the “Pay to Stay” program and directed to seek my own medical attention.

  • I will not purchase any prescription medications without the approval of the Jail Supervisor or designee.  If I am authorized to purchase any prescription medications, I will turn-in the prescription(s) to the on-duty Jail staff upon return to the facility.  I understand that should I need to continue use of any prescription, I may be released from the “Pay to Stay” program and directed to seek my own medical attention.

  • I will not participate in any medical, pharmaceutical or cosmetic experiments (including the selling or donating of blood) while in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program

  • I will not consume poppy seeds while in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program because consumption of poppy seeds can result in a positive urinalysis for morphine or codeine.

  • I can be subjected to random alcohol breath tests or urinalysis.

  • I will not possess, transport or use a weapon of any kind while in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program.

  • I will not engage in ANY criminal activity, violate any law or  commit any crimes while in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program.

  • I will not associate with any persons engaged in criminal activity while in the work furlough “Pay to Stay” program.

  • While out of custody on work furlough, I will not associate with any person convicted of a felony.

  • I will not enter into any gambling establishment, make bets of any kind, or participate in any games of chance, including the purchase of lottery tickets.

  • I will not bring anything into the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail facility at any time, for others or for myself, that has not been authorized by the Beverly Hills Police Department’s on-duty Jail staff.

  • I will not bring a cell phone or any personal electronic devices into the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail facility.

  • I will pay my financial obligations on-time and in the correct amount by either cashier’s check or money order.

  • I will immediately advise the Beverly Hills Police Department’s on-duty Jail staff if I lose my job, regardless of the reason.

  • I will immediately notify the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Jail staff if I am arrested, detained, questioned or cited by any law enforcement officer.

 

  • I will not appear before any Court for any reason without notifying the Beverly Hills Police Department’s on-duty Jail staff in advance of the appearance.  I will provide the reason, date, and time for my appearance and the location of the Court.
