Beverly Gardens Park Rehabilitation Recognized by California Preservation Foundation

The Beverly Gardens Park Rehabilitation is the winner of a 2019 Preservation Design Award for Rehabilitation.

Presented by the California Preservation Foundation, award recipients are selected by a jury of top professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, planning, and history.  Mayor John Mirisch recently accepted the award in northern California.

Judges noted the exceptional commitment to preserving a landscape while making it sustainable, stating “This is a good example of simultaneously engaging in conservation and preservation, maintaining historic features of the landscape while making it more environmentally friendly.”

Beverly Gardens Park, a 113-year-old designated historic landmark, is a 1.9-mile long linear park providing 23 blocks of open space.

The multi-million dollar, multi-year partnership accomplished comprehensive restoration and rehabilitation of the park while retaining the landmark’s original vision and character-defining features.
