Beverly Hills, Calif. - As the City of Beverly Hills continues its proactive efforts to reduce the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and promote public health, its Community Services Department announced today that the Spring 2020 Art Show scheduled for May 16 & 17 in Beverly Gardens Park has been cancelled.
“We know that our community members and the thousands of visitors that attend the spring art show highly anticipate its arrival, but hope all will understand why we had to cancel it in light of the current situation,” says Jenny Rogers, Director of Community Services. “Ensuring public safety and health of all is a top priority of the City.”
Despite its cancellation, an Artist List and links to select artists’ websites is available online at CommunityLifeBH.org. This gives art enthusiasts access to the select artists and the ability to explore and purchase artwork. Community Services staff also plan to feature Spring Art Show artists and their artworks in an online “Artist of the Week” series this spring and summer and in artist interviews and video segments online and on BHTV!
Rogers says, “As a way to stay connected to our community and its artists, a Virtual Community Services website was developed at CommunityLifeBH.org where you can find a multitude of online programs, resources and engaging content under Arts & Culture and Artists Resources, among other topics that will help you stay active and nourished physically, mentally and spiritually at home! In addition, you can go to the Beverly Hills new Arts & Culture website, beverlyhillsarts.org, for additional art-related resources, upcoming online events and information on local arts organizations and the City’s excellent Fine Arts Collection.”
