Expedited Metro Purple Line Work in Beverly Hills to Continue Through June 15

Beverly Hills, CA – The Beverly Hills City Council tonight voted 4-1 to allow expedited work on the Metro Purple Line to continue with the temporary, full closure of Wilshire Boulevard between Crescent Drive and Beverly Drive to be complete by June 15th.

In late March, the City Council approved the closure and a new construction timeline due to reduced traffic flow in connection with the COVID-19 emergency.

The piling work on the south side of Wilshire was originally scheduled to last through August but was completed on May 9th.  Under the current expedited timeline, the Wilshire decking work originally scheduled for completion in March of 2021 will be finished by June 15th.

Work will not occur on Father’s Day or Independence Day.  Soft closures will remain in place along Wilshire Boulevard within the detour area to allow local access. Local access to businesses will be maintained.
