The Department utilizes many different social media platforms to communicate with residents. Primarily, social media is used to disseminate information and to notify the public of incidents that may potentially effect them.
Nixle is a text-based notification service for law enforcement agencies. Additionally, anyone can submit an anonymous tip by texting TIP BEVHILLSPD followed by the message, to 888-777. Subscribers receive text messages from BHPD about important incidents directly to their phone. The Department uses Nixle to notify subscribers of emergent incidences, media releases, and community events.
Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are used in the same spirit, but with more frequency. It allows us to create a dialogue between BHPD and the community. These platforms are not monitored 24/7 and it may take some time for a response. Please do not use social media instead of calling 911 during emergencies.
If you have pictures or videos you would like to submit for potential posting to BHPD social media platforms, please email them to our Social Media Team at Police-SocialMediaGroup@beverlyhills.org
A Social Media flyer is available here.
