Weekly Update 11/09/18
Wilshire/La Cienega Station
Closures continue on Wilshire Boulevard.
The following closures* are scheduled to place during the upcoming week:
- North Gale will be closed from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays, and 8 am to 7 pm on Saturdays.
- The parking lanes on eastbound and westbound Wilshire will be closed intermittently between La Cienega and San Vicente from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays.
- The parking lane on northbound La Cienega will be closed intermittently north of Wilshire from 9 am to 4pm on weekdays
Please use alternative routes and continue to respect construction barriers and detours for your safety.
Demolition in progress at former Ace Gallery building.
Demolition and abatement activities are underway. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.* Hauling and heavy demolition activity can only take place between 9 am and 4 pm.*
A portion of the park at 125 S. Reeves is closed temporarily, and access to the playground is restricted.
Fault line investigations taking place on Wilshire.
Drilling and sampling work to assess the soil and geological makeup of the tunnel route is currently in progress. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 pm to 6 am.* During work hours, eastbound Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Linden Drive and McCarty Drive. All three lanes on westbound Wilshire will be maintained.
Demolition permit approved by City Council during its November 6 meeting.
The Beverly Hills City Council authorized the issuance of a permit for demolition of buildings at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and N. Canon Drive (9383-9393 and 9395-9399 Wilshire). In addition to the demolition work, sound walls will be installed and some utilities will need to be relocated. Once the demolition is complete, the site will be used for staging and construction of the Metro Purple Line Extension. This work is anticipated to start in early 2019.*
*Due to the dynamic nature of construction, all proposed dates and times are subject to change.

The Purple Line Extension will provide a transportation alternative to the congested Westside, including two stops in Beverly Hills: Wilshire/ La Cienega and Wilshire/ Rodeo.
PROJECT DETAILS - Purple Line
The project is scheduled to be built in three sections. The first section of the Purple Line Extension will extend the subway from the Wilshire/ Western station in Los Angeles to Wilshire/La Cienega in Beverly Hills. Section 2 extends from the Wilshire/ La Cienega station to the Wilshire/ Rodeo station and then on to the Century City / Constellation station.
