Transportation Metro Purple Line Extension Project Subway Construction
Subway Construction

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has started construction of a three-station Metro Purple Line extension.  In Beverly Hills, this includes construction of the Section 1 terminus station at Wilshire Blvd and La Cienega Blvd.   The first major work effort will involve relocating utilities to prepare for construction of the station box.  The City of Beverly Hills and Metro have reached an agreement for the utility relocation phase that includes detailed restrictions and guidelines for mitigating the impacts of construction on residents and businesses in the vicinity. You can view the agreement below.

Please note that the Metro Purple Line Section 1 extension construction only includes construction activities related to the Wilshire/La Cienega station.  Construction for the Purple Line Section 2 to Century City is currently scheduled to begin in 2018 with pre-construction activities scheduled to begin in 2017-18.  Detailed information regarding the Purple Line may be obtained at Metro’s website at: www.metro.net/purplelineext.
