American Songbook buff Jim Jimirro shares facts, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and music from his collection.

Join many who have enjoyed his vibrant and informed perspective on the music of Berlin, Porter, Ellington, and Gershwin, the lyrics of Mercer and Hammerstein, and the stylings of Sinatra and Fitzgerald. Mr. Jimirro was founding president of The Disney Channel and Walt Disney Home Video and is currently Chairman of the Board of National Lampoon.

Nick Davis is a writer, director, and producer. His most recent film is Once Upon A Time in Queens about the 1986 Mets. He lives in New York City with his wife and daughters.

Jill Schary Robinson

Virtual Author Program Event 

Jill Schary Robinson is author of several renowned memoirs, including With a Cast of Thousands, Bed/Time/Story, and Past Forgetting. She is the daughter of Dore Schary, the Oscar and Tony Award winning writer, producer, and head of MGM. As a copywriter for the advertising agency FCB, Robinson trained with Helen Gurley Brown. Robinson also wrote on women’s issues for Cosmopolitan and covered political trials for the Soho Weekly News. Her first memoir, With a Cast of Thousands is about her experiences growing up among celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor and Adlai Stevenson. In 2005, Robinson was given a lifetime grant to develop the non-profit Wimpole Street Writers program, which continues both in London and Los Angeles. In 2009, she was instrumental in saving the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s retirement home.

Thank you for your interest in presenting a program at Beverly Hills Public Library.  The Library is open for reduced hours until further notice.  We are currently accepting proposals for new programs for the months of January, February, and March of 2023.
